“The more serious and experienced a writer is, the more likely it is that they are going to treat Nano with caution.”
So…is a 50,000-word, extremely-rough draft actually a novel? Are these people novelists?
A balanced argument for and against NaNoWriMo. I did know of it back in 2013, nor did I need it to start my journey of becoming a writer. One month and 50,000 words does not make you a seasoned writer through magic, nor will it save your manuscript from going into the slush pile.
Take it on out of your own conviction, and test the waters.
I wrote 6,000/50,000 of the promised goal I had set for Camp NaNoWriMo in July, but that does not make me a bad writer. Artists who fail in Inktober aren’t bad artists either.
